Halogen-free expansion flame retardant FR-1420

Introduction

FR-1420 is specially designed for PP, PE and other polyolefin, TPE, TPV and other elastomers, with phosphorus and nitrogen elements as the main flame retardant elements (the system does not include APP), mainly by the mechanism of carbon expansion flame retardant effect.  Not subject to RoHS and REACH;  It has the characteristics of high flame retardant efficiency, good thermal stability, no precipitation, good water resistance, light aging resistance and low smoke non-toxic.  Fr-1420 flame retardant PP, add 22%-25%, flame retardant to UL 94 V-0(1.6mm), and through 70℃×168 hours immersion test (UL746C), GWIT900℃ gwire test;  Fr-1420 is especially suitable for glass fiber reinforced PP, where 20% can be added to UL 94 V-0(0.8mm).

Processing matters needing attention : 

(1) FR-1420 initial thermal decomposition temperature in the air is 280℃, so the processing temperature of the twin screw can be adjusted up according to the specific situation to strengthen dispersion and improve the effect of plasticizing.  A certain vacuum degree must be kept in the process of twin-screw extrusion.  

(2) When FR-1420 is used in PP, it is not recommended to use screw combinations with strong shear.  

(3) FR-1420 can be customized according to customer requirements, conducive to dispersion, avoid smoke.
